Billyboy
To the collective: While topping up gbox I noticed the speedo drive / electronic thing on gbox, Is this supposed to be loose ish - being held in with a circlip 🤔 The sump baffle caterham have supplied has no screw holes/Plastic built in washer thingies where the oil pickup pipe bolts go through. Do you have to make your own holes 🤔 Is there a Torque setting for these small bolts that hold the oil pickup / ali baffle plate on 🤔 And the last one! the bolt in the bottom of the ant-cav tank does this need to be replaced using threadlock 🤔 HO NO ONE Last one can I leave this baffle out 🤔 Cheers! Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get! Edited by - billyboy on 5 Feb 2007 18:09:
CageyH
You have to make your own holes. A hot soldering iron is good for this. Do a search on the archives and make up your mind if you wish to fit it. Only dead fish go with the flow....

Billyboy
OK reading through the archives this FOAM bafflle seems to be a nightmare for some! What to do? replace it or just leave it out? Englishmaninwales
Billyboy And the last one! the bolt in the bottom of the ant-cav tank does this need to be replaced using threadlock I'd advise against this, I usually refit my drain plug up with PTFE tape. Do not overtighten (or threadlock) as some people have had difficulty in undoing it, resulting a damaged tank. malcolm
Myles
What to do? replace it or just leave it out? I'm firmly in the 'leave it out' camp - having suffered the cost of a bottom-end rebuild after just 70 miles... Anyway, what I'd do is to dump the foam and try DVA's (aka Oilyhands) sump-gasket modification - do a search in Techtalk. THis involves drilling a couple of carefully-placed holes in the gasket near the pickup - should make oil-return under cornering somewhat easier. 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 Alcester Racing 7s Equipe™ 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 Alcester-Racing-Sevens.com
