Is it possible to change the Ford parts inside the 3.92

De Dion (not LSD) or are we obliged to change all the De Dion

supplied by Caterham.

 

 

Who knows the Ford part number of the inside of the de dion

If you want to change the ratio of the differential you can do this. Ratio's from Ford are 3.92, 3.62 and 3.38

 

Most 6 speed cars have the 3.62, most 5 speeds the 3.92

 

 

The smaller the ratio number, the taller the gearing - or the faster you go for given engine speed. The higher the number the faster your accleration.

 

I do not know who can make the change for you in France, but you could send the diff to the UK to Phil Stewart. He charges around £175 (E.250) to make the change (inc the parts) plus shipping.

Ford also do a 3.14.
