does anyone have a lovely pair of carbon wings for 13 inch wheels in great condtion? quite happy to beg steal or borrow. or that old fav cash.

 

also black windscreen heated, new or in great condition.

 

and rear stone guards black and new?

 

dont all laugh at once, someone somewhere may have some along with their chicken teeth.

Sorry, can't help with the cycle wings - definately like hens teeth s/h!

 

Screen - take you're old one apart and get it powder coated - should cost £20 to £25

i know a man who powder coats . . . with the risk of tunring this into to tech talk - would the frame need to be sandblasted or sanded or prepared? would the chrome need to be removed?

It's not chrome it's just very well polished ally.

 

I completely deassembled mine including removing the popper bases then gave it a quick flatting with a fine grade wet'n'dry. The powder coating people then acid-etched it and applied the powder - they actually refer to it as Matt Black rather than satin, but worth checking with them.

When taking it apart, check the orientation of the small internal quadrants that hold it together at the bottom corners - photograph if necessary otherwise you'll have a puzzle on your hands when you start reassembly! How do I know! Popper bases are re-rivetted with special flat-head rivets (available from Caterham for a few pence each).
