Andyinluton
Before it goes on ebay I've got a white (looks like a canon "L") sigma 400mm f5.6 apo lens to fit canon autofocus cameras. Its in absolutely mint condition with the original case etc. It does work with the older digital cameras ie the D30, all 35mm cameras and the APS slr It would need rechipping to work on on the 30D & other recent cameras. Looking for £150 Andy
Tight fart
What's involved with re-chipping a lens? (never heard of it before) A7 RDP pics here
Myles
You'd have to send it back to Sigma or one of their repair places. Canon don't publish their lens specs, so Sigma (and others) have to reverse engineer the comms between the camera and lens. # Some older Sigma lenses do not work correctly with the latest EOS cameras. They fit the camera but don’t have compatible electronics, so the camera tends to lock up when you try to shoot. If you have such a lens you’ll need to contact the manufacturer to see if they can provide a free repair to the problem. The lenses don’t damage the camera - they just cause a temporary lockup that’s quickly cured by turning off the camera and turning it back on again. Note that not all older Sigmas can be rechipped (or are worth the effort) - I can't locate a convenient compatibility/upgrade chart. Used to be one on the Sigma site, IIRC - can't find a mention any more. 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 Alcester Racing 7s Equipe™ 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 🙆🏻 Alcester-Racing-Sevens.com
