Alex Wong1697456877
Does anybody know the open and closed lengths of a widetrack Bilstein damper (including the little extension bit) I'm thinking of getting some adjustable units. Any recommendations - Traxspax, Avo, Leda, Ohlin, Penske, Bilstein???? OK - I can't justify Ohlins or Penske dampers really! Alex
EFA
Trackspax have more granularity to the bump adjustment. Fat Arn This is a Testid=red> See the Lotus Seven Club 4 Counties Area Website hereid=green>
Rob Walker
Alex, I looked at the Leda dampers at the Autosport Show and found them to be very heavy as compared to the Bilsteins. As to the length measure your own units and if they are non widetrack just add 30mm to allow for the hex spacer.
EFA
Rob/Alex Just adding to the length can give rise to problems with clearence between the spring retainers on the damper and the wishbone on the car if the dampers are a particularly "chunky" design. These clearences are very tight with the Trackspax <1mm pn the lower front wishbone where the damper is inverted. robmar
Alex - get in touch with Daren Ball he has just had to send some AVO's back as they where the incorrect size for wide track, he took all sorts of measurements rob
Mike Bees
I'd look at the Nitron ones if I had some cash floating around. Mike
Alex Wong1697456877
Arnie, I know what you mean about the clearance issues. I would prefer rose joints to give some ability to move the cone away from the wishbone. Alex

GasMan
Alex I bought Leda's from James Whiting they may be a bit heavy but they are terrific. You will probably need the longer top to get the wishbone clearance. Matthew
millsn
I didn't hve good exprience with Ledas and have reverted to Bilstein. My critiscism relates to comfort not handling. On the track they were far better, on the bumpy roads around my house they were not good. they are indeed much heavier than the bilstein and take a 2.25 inch spring Nigel Mills - 2.0 Zetec carbs
