HELP !!! Upper Ball Joint on Top Front Wishbone

Baby Bucket

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

Everything was going to plan in my front suspension rebuild, when I came across this problem.

When attempting to tighten the M14 Nyloc on the upper ball joint, the joint just turns. I tried hitting the joint with a soft faced hammer in order to get it to seat but without success.

Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Peter

PS Strangely the RHS ball joint tightened up without any probelms.

Thanks

Peter

I presume you have the front uprights without trunnions. If you do have trunnions, and you are fitting the De-dion adj top wishbone, the track rod end supplied by Caterham has the wrong taper on it, and will not mate correctly.

If you don't have trunnions, then it should stop spinning by applying pressure from the top, as stated in earlier postings

Buy a large (very large) quantity of pies and balance them on the top wishbone. When you're done put the pies in the freezer and save them until the next world pie shortage, when you will have the choice of either keeping your pie consumption at it's accustomed level or selling the pies at vast profit to those of us with less foresight.

Glad to be of help.

Mike
