Hanns Per
I want to modify my 2,3l Coswoth engine from a plain chamber to either a roller barrel or a direct to head single throttle bodies. I know the roller barrel version is more expensive. But what are the advantages or disadvantages for the two variants? simonbell
From what I`ve been told there are no tangible benefits from going roller barrell, in fact some would say it is harder to get a smooth idle and smoothness at small throttle openings. I run the Raceline DTH TB`s which I have been more than happy with. I reckon it`s the DTH bit which makes the difference really. The Cosworth roller barrels are pretty chunky.......the raceline ones certainly look lighter. I don`t know if anyone has done any back to back testing on a duratec although I vaguely remember someone doing it on a K series. Rob Walker
Raceline now sell a 48mm Direct to head throttle body, perfect for anyone hunting for big power ( ie more than 270 bhp) out of a 2.3 duratec
ELV15
Hanns, I'm running the SBD DTH throttle bodies and have been very happy with them. They are similar to the Raceline ones, but are tapered.
