NoLimits Posted March 15, 2002 Share Posted March 15, 2002 I have a new SLR which i have just finished building. It has and MBE ECU and Roller barrels and has paseed the SVA. Do i remove the Cat and fit the 4-1 exhast adapter or leave the system alone? How much extra ooomph do you get with its removal next to the cost for the adapter. V7 SLR Posted March 15, 2002 Share Posted March 15, 2002 The Cat-replacement pipe for the SLR is a 4-2-1. It doesn't give any more power really, OK, about 3bhp at max revs, but IMO the advantage is in removing the eyesore that the standard Cat is. It's supposed to iron out a flat spot in the torque curve at around 4000rpm but I replaced mine whilst running the engine in, so I hadn't really had chance to check whether there was a "hole" there or not. A Cat-replacement pipe doesn't come cheap though. It was about 160 quid if I remember correctly. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
