Wheel Stud Torque setting?

for a de Dion, and 19mm nuts! am i right in thinking 60ftlb is correct?. having read a number of postings it seems high but it's what Caterham Midlands suggested.

You don`t need to torque them surely.

I'm not sure where I got this from but I thought it was 55lb, never torque them myself, just do them up tight and hope they don't fall off smile.gif

I do lots of track days here in the states, often have wheels/tires off between sessions so I've torqued my wheel nut more than most.

 

40-45 lb.ft. is all that is needed. I usually torque to 35, then 40, then finish off at 42.

 

I check the torque often and have never found a nut to have backed off.
