Windscreen for R300

Put it this way ......

We recently tried to shop around to get a better premium for our 5-vehicle work fleet. A number of insurers wouldn't even quote, stating a "bad claims history" - 3 claims in 5 years, approx £1200 of chassis impact damage on our van, plus 2 windscreens on cars. We pushed it a little and we were told that "a claim is a claim, not interested"! Obviously we stayed with our existing cover.

If you claim for a screen, you'll pay for it eventually whether it be on the 7 policy or on another vehicle. A recently bought a s/h back-up screen exactly for this reason. When you knock off the £60 excess, IMO the screen isn't so expensive that it's worth suffering increased premiums on other policies 🤔 Keep your claims history clean for a bigger problem *thumbup*

either track day cover or windscreen
Slight difference in the cost/benefit analysis then 😳 Mine's the same (EG) and if spending any time on track the decision is a complete no-brainer!

New screen = £310

Excess = £60

Additional cost of not claiming therefore £250.

Effect on future premiums (all insurers) = probably a lot more than £240!

We'll keep it at the top then, something will turn up soon *thumbup*

Can I suggest you add a link in Chitchat or Techtalk (some members never visit this section!) and change the title to drop the R300 bit - most non-SV heated screens are fine! Good luck!
