Amazingly robust little aircraft.

When I was a kid, WLAC had four at White Waltham (1970s) G.ATVL, G.AWBS, G.AVSC G.VLF (I think). They were 1960s PA28s, but everytime I've been into WW since, they still seem to be in regular use. They must have clocked up huge hours over 40 years.

When did they fit the quadrant throttle on the PA 28? Always thought it was nicer than the push/pull one.

In the past I flew gliders.

Everything I did afterwards was to get the same trill.

Race cars on a track, off- piste skiing, kite- surfing, buy a Seven.....

Notting came even close to the same trill!

So please don’t tamper me to sell my Seven and buy your plain instead!

How much for lessons in the UK?

I'm a member of WLAC - and I think G-AVSC is still on fleet. I must admit I tend to fly the newer planes, particularly a fairly new Archer which they now have 😬

Training rates, at least in the S-E and for Pipers & Cessnas - you're now looking at £160 plus p.h. all-in.

Whats wrong with Blackbushe Nodrog, Waltham is a bit of a trek from Hook ☹️

We'll have to meet up some time (maybe the Phoenix in Hartley Wintney at the L7 Club meet), I fly G-DEVS from the Bushe.

140 cherokees are a bit like 1.4 K series, a bit short on guts, DEVS is a '62 180 which climbs 2 up with full fuel at 1000+ fpm, but like having a 1.8 supersport *biggrin*

I did fly from the Bushe for many years - until European Flyers went bust. I've always flown Club planes, so joined WLAC after EF got shut down.

Yes, I do go to the Phoenix very occasionally - see you there sometime.

If you drop me your details via blatmail I'll give you mine, you could come up in DEVS, I've been watching the Red Bull races and have picked up some tips 😬

I bumped into one of El Fayed's chopper pilots the other night, flies an S76, El Fayed has his own hangar at Stanstead *eek*
