Marius
I´m still working on fitting a 13row oil-cooler to my Vauxhall 7. First I wanted to fit it in front of the alloy radiator but the gap between radiator and mash is too small. There would be enough space between the fan and the steering rack, air-flow should still be o.k., even little more hot. Any suggestions if it would be wise to fit it there or somewhere else ? Thanks in advance.
Rob Morris
Why? Even the vauxhall race cars ran without an oil cooler. These had a claimed output of 190bhp on 48mm carbs and were thashed within an inch (25.4mm) of there lives for 20+ mins. Please be aware that you can over cool engine oil with equally bad results!!!!!!
Mike Bees
The ones (Vx race cars) I saw at Hyperion some years back did have oil coolers. Mike
Marius
Mine´s far from being standard and my engine tuner recommended the oil-cooler for safety reasons. Oil-undercooling should not be a problem, I don´t use the car for everyday, so when it´s being dragged out of the garage, it´s gonna be well used.
