Simon.Rogers1
Dave/Adrian, Richard/Mark. Do you guys know how to get the video hosted on You tube or Something similar. My own web site probably has enough capacity but not sure how long it would take me to put it on there. Help?
Adrian Williams
Sorry Simon, I've no idea how to host video on the web but there must be someone out there that does. Adrian
david nelson
Simon I tried to make a copy for Adrian this week but failed. So the chance of me did you tube is slim. David
Richard Anderson
Hi Simon, I will take the DVD into work with me on Monday and encode it as a AVI / WMV format movie suitable for hosting on a server. I will get back to you on Monday evening. Rich.
robmar
if you can get to me I am sure i can get it up onto soapbox, its better than utube honest rob
Richard Anderson
Right, done it! :-) It's a 110Mb WMV file. I had to downsample it to 320x240 25fps but, it still looks pretty good. Where do u want me to upload it to? Rob, is soapbox somewhere I can put it myself? ....also, how about Pistonheads TV? Rich.
robmar
Richard - i think as long as you have a Windows LiveID so soemthing like a hotmail account then yes same sort of deal as You tube just a blatant plug
Richard Anderson
Rob, I think u might need to send me an invitation to join the soapbox beta??? Also, could you check the max file size.....it seems to be 100Mb on YouTube. Rich.

Richard Anderson
Hi Simon, We might be better uploading it to your server or the blatchat server.... I have tried uploading it to Pistonheads TV but, I don't think it accepts files that big. I am still waiting to hear from Rob about Soapbox (Microsoft YouTube equivalent).....I tried to sign up for it (using rsanderson99(AT)hotmail.com), but, it seems u need to be invited? You tube won't accept files over 10mins long :-( I could try splitting the file into 4 parts? Rich.
Mark Durrant
Rich It might be worth splitting it into four parts as it is more likely that people will watch 10 minutes as opposed to 40 . I do not think we can host this on the clubs servers but we will be able to put a link on Competitors Korner. Mark D Comp Sec

mikes
It stopped after 7 minutes for me as well - looks like I will have to do some work instead then! Well done to Simon and everyone else for producing this. Can we do a DVD? Mike
Simon.Rogers1
I can do DVD's or MPEGS. Send me a blat mail with address etc. Where's the cheapest place to buy dvd blanks. When I know how many are required I'll let Niel Cav know so that he can make the usual contribution of my excess profit to NTL 😬

Richard Anderson
Will check when I get into work. This would b a lot easier if someone could provide some server space? Its 110Mb. Rich.
Richard Anderson
Right, there does seem to be some sort of problem viewing the video using Pistonheads TV....I think their server is incorrectly configured and drops the connection after 7 mins. HOWEVER, you can still download the entire (47mins/100Mb) video from their site to your PC and view at your leisure. Download it from the following link :- here (right click, save as) I think you will need at least Windows Media Player v9 to view it. Enjoy, Rich. Adrian Williams
Rich, it downloads OK but stops at the same point 7 mins in. Bet you wish you hadn't volunteered now. 😬 😬 Adrian
