CORRUPTING OF URL LINKS

Guy Lowe

Recommended Posts

When you create a link using [ url]http://www.example.com[ /url] BC will convert that into the familiar "here" link. When you then edit the post, the editor reads what's in the post and writes it back to you as [ url=http://www.example.com]here[ /url], which is the format you would use if you wanted the text to be something other than "here". As far as I'm aware, the actual link doesn't get corrupted though. Both formats of link can be seen in the faq/smilies link.

If you want to re-create the post and link in this thread, please do so that I can take a look at what's happening.

Cheers

Barry

I spotted a Se7en in Helston here whilst down there this summer and my sister, who lives in Coverack says she has seen Se7en's on her rounds (she is a nurse or something), in Ruan Minor and Mullion.

Barry

It seems that when I went in to edit the post I put the syntax back to what it was and deleted the Here but left in the = sign before the =http:// upon saving it put another =http:// in the URL hence the page could not be found. I have left it as it was saved in the post above for you to look at.

Sorry

Guy
