Unclefester
I don't know anything at all about it, honest guvnor. Haarlemstraat? Never even heard of it. No I know nothing whatever about those barges with the gardens on them......or the mysterious denizens of Brauwersgraacht....but I've led a very sheltered life.    SeaView!!!! 😬 😬here *eek* Edited by - Unclefester on 22 Nov 2006 20:50:
Mrs Mav
 I quite liked the Victoria hotel. Not too far to walk from the train station and handy for the sights  Viv
ziplobb
If you go and pay to stay with one of those gals who stands in her front window you dont need a hotel

Tam
I was there last week- stayed in the NH Kranapolsky hotel on Dam Sqaure with work, then moved out to the Movenpick for the weekend with Michael. NH was OK but noisy at night and the rooms were smoky.  I have to say the Movenpick was superb. Its 7 weeks old, completely non-smoking, very modern, excellent breakfast and the staff were great. We booked through Expedia - about £100 a night (Amsterdam is not really cheap for hotels). Its not bang in the centre but only a short 10 min walk from the Central Station or a two minute tram ride (tram stop right outside)  Tam

MarcNS
It's the architecture that interests me, Bang in the centre sounds fine  Edited by - MarcNS on 22 Nov 2006 15:21:

Unclefester
It's a place to arrive in by train, with your trusty XT500 (a form of old motorcycle) here in baggage car......for those of us with 'delicate feet' Watch out for the silent trams!  SeaView!!!! 😬 😬here *eek*  Edited by - Unclefester on 24 Nov 2006 23:57:
Unclefester
Or if an XT500 is too butch with that nasty kickback, how about this boosted crotchrocket? here  GOES LIKE STINK! 😬 😬 😬 SeaView!!!! 😬 😬here *eek* Edited by - Unclefester on 25 Nov 2006 00:03:
