Racingshoe
Just bought myself a lovely six-speed gearbox 😬 😬 It doesn't have a shifter connected at the moment, and I could just bolt on my old type-9 mechanism, but was wondering if anyone had used the Demon Tweeks advertised quickshift mechanism. Is it worth the 78quid +theft? Rik Robarts - the future's bright, the future's orange here

rgrigsby
I'd stick to your standard shift, the quick shift is nice but it also makes it easier to beat the syncros on the box which in the long term isn't a good thing. Having said that if your careful it'll be OK. As an aside you can modify you're existing gear lever using instructions on DVA's website, it'll be a lot less than £78! Rob Walker
Rik, I would advise you to stay with the standard Ford lever. Rob
JampJ
You could do with borrowing one just to try it. It's a quick job to swap it. Cheers J&J JFDI (Just F*****g Do It)
oldbutnotslow
I did the DA mod about 18 months ago and have found it to be excellent. I have now even removed the extension piece on the lever so its VERY short and very fast. I noticed a difference straight away, Even better since I have had Brian Hills fettle my 5 speeder box Grant Taylor OBNS Motorsport www.obns.co.uk 😬 183 BHP of Black and 'Stone Chip' excitement. 😬 here
Mark w
£78 Cheap The quick shift on my 997 Porsche cost £350 !!!
Alex Wong1697456877
I had the Quaife quickshift on my SPC type 9 and it was a good improvement. The 6 speed seems to have a shorter throw than a type nine though so maybe not such a good idea for that box.
