andycox
A nice piece of CAD work probably drawn in inventor, a great program that can be used as a design and a sales tool. Flying across the fens 😬 looking for an escape route.

Andy A
It is great CAD. but not Inventor andycox how dare you.... Ford powertrain used NX I-deas for the Duratec. Its actually quite an old video. Probably converted to the JT format to do the assembly mockup & animation.

Normans_Ghost
This was linked to last week. But the Ford logo at the begining, the Duratec bit in the middle and the end titles ahd been edited out. Alaskossie
I thought the Duratec had a balance shaft? None appears in the video. Or is it only some versions of the Duratec? I do know that Cosworth offers a "balance shaft delete kit" for when the Duratec balance shaft is eliminated (presumably for weight savings -- why else would you delete it?)... Andy A
Andy. The Duratec was modelled in the UGS product NX-Ideas. See UGS and published as JT for the digital mockup. See JT. Ford and much of the rest of the industry is using lightweight JT to communicate designs. Well you did ask! Regards Andy.

Andy A
Andy, Most CAD packages will export the JT format. I believe more recent versions of Inventor have this capability.
