Raceco Exhaust

My old standard 4 2 1 exhaust is now rattling and getting noisier but is sort of OK. What are the benefits of a new raceco exhaust or should i get the existing exhaust sorted and repacked and if the latter whereabouts can this be done in the west country other than Millwoods

Wildbill,

There is an specialist exhaust place outside of my work. (HQ Land Command at Wilton)

I don't know what they are like, but have seen many nice race cars on their site.

From buisness card they are:

Torque Technique Ltd, The Avenue, Wilton, Wilts

01722 744747 (Mike Poulton)

Maybe worth a call ?

Being younger than you and down with the kids 421 is quicker than 4 into 1 *tongue*

Norman, yes i did see yours and very big it was too 😳 BUT my question is do i continue to put up with the current exhaust or bite the bullet, what advantages will the raceco give? I realise it's repackable and will probably be quieter (i think i'll fail a noise test now) but are these the only benefits?

dear Sirs Mr wild Willy

your use of text nonsense in this environment is not called for. Being down with the engineers, 4 2 1 is read as your collector design , rather than some spotty western youths lazy thumb action .

I suggest you leave the kids alone and play with your car instead *wink*

*arrowup*I would suggest you go as large as you can on the silencer - 6" or 7" , then you will have a greater margin of saftey for the noise.

A new raceco can will be quieter than a worn caterham can , by how much depends how old and worn your Caterham silencer is.

It would seem that i have to send off the collector and silencer together to raceco for them to sort it as my exit pipe from the collector is 2" rather than 2.25" this allows them to make the silencer to the correct fit and weld a 2.25 or 2.5 exit pipe onto the collectoris this what everyone else did?
