wild bill
My old standard 4 2 1 exhaust is now rattling and getting noisier but is sort of OK. What are the benefits of a new raceco exhaust or should i get the existing exhaust sorted and repacked and if the latter whereabouts can this be done in the west country other than Millwoods
Manxseven
Wildbill, There is an specialist exhaust place outside of my work. (HQ Land Command at Wilton) I don't know what they are like, but have seen many nice race cars on their site. From buisness card they are: Torque Technique Ltd, The Avenue, Wilton, Wilts 01722 744747 (Mike Poulton) Maybe worth a call ? Rob Walker
wild Bill Raceco top quality, very light but expensive. BTW your system is a 4into 1 not a 4:2:1 and be aware that the OD of the pipe is different on each when ordering a replacement silencer. Normans_Ghost
Seconded or thirded or, Oh, you get the idea. raceco Didn't you see mine? wild bill
Rob Being younger than you and down with the kids 421 is quicker than 4 into 1 Norman, yes i did see yours and very big it was too 😳 BUT my question is do i continue to put up with the current exhaust or bite the bullet, what advantages will the raceco give? I realise it's repackable and will probably be quieter (i think i'll fail a noise test now) but are these the only benefits?
Jason Plato
dear Sirs Mr wild Willy your use of text nonsense in this environment is not called for. Being down with the engineers, 4 2 1 is read as your collector design , rather than some spotty western youths lazy thumb action . I suggest you leave the kids alone and play with your car instead
dannylt
I got slightly more power everywhere with my original 2.5" RaceCo when replacing the Caterham race repackable one (though it was really an effort to try and pass noise limits). As a side benefit
eric
for my 1600 sprint Ford 110 HP 4 into 1 manifold Do you thinh 5" race co better than Caterham one Less noise requested eric
Jason Plato
*arrowup*I would suggest you go as large as you can on the silencer - 6" or 7" , then you will have a greater margin of saftey for the noise. A new raceco can will be quieter than a worn caterham can , by how much depends how old and worn your Caterham silencer is. here is C7 TOP South Wales AO
wild bill
It would seem that i have to send off the collector and silencer together to raceco for them to sort it as my exit pipe from the collector is 2" rather than 2.25" this allows them to make the silencer to the correct fit and weld a 2.25 or 2.5 exit pipe onto the collectoris this what everyone else did? Mark Durrant
Yes that is what I did and it is an excellent fit on the car Mark D Comp Sec
eric
my caterham silencer is quite new due to ground clearance I cannot go for 6 or 7" eric
Mark Durrant
I run my car very low and have no problems with the 6" silencer and I'm fairly sure Raceco do not make a 5" silencer. Mark D Comp Sec
Alex Wong1697456877
Definitely recommended. Very well made, noticably quieter than Techcraft IMO. Much better at keeping it's packing in. I miss mine (changed when I bought a custom made 4-2-1 system which came with a Techcraft silencer) and will be getting another when funds allow! Anthony
Eric, there is a way of getting a techcraft or RaceCo to work for you. A bit of magic at the 7 Workshop and all will be fine my friend Anthony Car is nearly ready, but I have be saying that for at least a year :-)
