Casbar
The "R" indicates Race. The tyres come in either S - Soft or SS super soft compound

F355GTS
Rob Are 'S' better? I've just bought a brand new set of 'SS' following recommendations????????
stevefoster
S are soft. SS are super soft I believe. SS are better for a lap time but won't last very long = less than 3000 road miles or 2000 road and a bit of track that the S will manage. Not sure how SS compare with ACB10's for grip.... rgrigsby
I've tried both S and SS compounds, the SS were grippier but I found it was quite easy to over heat them, they also didn't last very long at all!! In terms of outright grip a "caterham" compound ACB10 was still noticeable better and lasts longer.
