Area Representative Richard Price Posted October 3, 2006 Area Representative Share Posted October 3, 2006 No, that Caterham part number is for the complete sierra diff unit including the LSD.
rj
And the diff for a Caterham is bespoke as the ramps are modified... /r
rgrigsby
Hmm are they if you buy it direct from Caterham? I thought they weren't and that was one of the changes that Road&Race make. Rob G www.SpeedySeven.com
rj
Rob, you could in fact be right... I dunno, but have always had the idea that when it was factory supplied it would be modified. Just an idea of my own mind though....
JonW
Ahh... I thought that too but am in discussion with ZF here downunder about supplying just the diff part but they cant find any info on their systems... (no suprise there then as there are only 25 or so Caterhams down here)... i know the normal sierra one is different due to the thickness of the driveshafts... but... this has to be a normal ZF part really, i find it hard to believe they made these just for a low volume manufacturer like Caterham... tho ive been wrong before! 😬
Rob Walker
ZF no longer make or supply the LSD for the serria diff. They recently sold the production rights to Michell Cotts the same people that manufacture the Caterham six speed gearbox.
Mr Locust
You also need to know which final drive ration you want. Ian Green and Silver Roadsport 😬
