Englishmaninwales
Hmmm... possibly a non stanard engine, going by chassis number (SB1585) I think should have a pre crossflow engine (997, 1340 or 1500cc). The last of the Series 2 (SB2102 to SB2310) were crossflows (with Standard axle). But Lotus were far from consistent, and no doubt I shall be corrected!! Now where's my anorak 😬 Malcolm

The_ASH
They're not unusual wheels, you just need to come to the Oxford meet more often. Ashley Webster. No longer becalmed in a sea of Caterhamlessness.
deanteam
The wheels appear to be Lotus 'wobblies' if they are, some if not all were, magnesium. The rear wings are series 3 and might even be Caterham shape.
Wile7
*arrowup*& Was not aware of the wheels being popular - I had seen them on other 'old school' Lotus cars and in books etc. but never in the flesh on a seven so to speak. Interesting how members quickly start to apply knowledge etc. to the car from all different perspectives. What a great club Dave Ardley. Scalper
Do you guys think that the rear axle is the original Standard Comapnion item? Doesn't the rear track look a bit too wide for a Standard Companion axle? Enrico My Caterham Seven's photo gallery
