Mike C
Does anybody wish to upgrade their live axle car from Ital to Ford axle? I have a good ford axle and would consider a straight swap. Also have the appropriate hubs. Please call me on 07770 968944 or 01737 351300 at anytime for a chat. Mike C
cskip
Sorry to ask a silly question, but why? May be interested. How much work is involved in upgrading? Clive. Crossflow - Loud and Proud!
Mike C
Hi Clive, I'm building an original 1982 short cockpit and my wheels are for ital etc etc Give us a call to find out more Thanks Mike
wg_mulholland
Would you split and sell/swap the front hubs?
deanteam
Might be interested in just the axle. From which Ford car, what brakes are fitted, what diff ratio, is it strengthened, how much? Sorry cannot swap.
wg_mulholland
I've got an ital axle you could have-It was to be sent to caterham for conversion but plans changed. It's from a 1.1 ital I think.
Mike C
Thanks WG but I've just done a deal with John Gaines. I do however have an imaculate pair of Ford front Hubs. Powder coated etc etc if you are still interested in those please call me on 07770 968944 mike
Morls
wg, I'm looking for an axle, albeit with a longer diff, so... Is it; Bracketed, braked, cheap and nearbyquestion.gif If so, I'm on 0777 0737 891 cheers Mark (In Whitby, N.Yorks)
wg_mulholland
It's not bracketed up- It hasn't been to caterham. It is in need of new brakes aswell- basically its as removed (by me) from a 1.1 (I think- it may have been a 1.3) 50 000 miler Ital. I had planned to send it off for refurbisment/bracketing rather than pay the 500 odd for a caterham one. It cost me £40. I 'm 50 minutes north of carlisle, about 3 hr from yorkshire Bill
R2D2
Is the 1.3 axle the same as the 1.7 and 2 litre cars? I think that the 1.3 may be Morris Minor which is quite different, but I'm not 100% sure. The 1.7 and 2 litre are the ones Caterham used.
wg_mulholland
I definately took it off aN Ital- and it looks identical to a standard ital one.
Morls
Bill, I'd ideally like a "done" one if I can get one, but I'll give it some thought. "50 miles north of Carlisle", sounds a scenic, nice blatting part of the world. You might not be near Whitby, but my parents are near crocketford (Dumfries) and brother in Twynam / Auchencairn (D&G), anywhere near you?
