6 speed gearbox.

As my gearbox kindly decided to self destruct at Brands on tuesday it now needs a rebuild. Is it possible to change ratios on this type of box. Also is it possible to fit stronger internals 🤔

Thinking of using SPC in Worcester as they advertise in low flying and are relatively local. Any views appreciated.

I don't know about ratio changes although I'm sure it must be possible, but Phil at Road and Race can uprate the internals. I believe there are various options depending on how far you want to go and how much you want to spend.

Road & Race are the place most people seem to go for the 6 speed box as they have pretty much everything on the shelf, I'm fairly sure you can't change the ratios though.

Over the years Ive had a 6 speeder rebuilt by both SPC & Road & Race both offered a good service.

If i had to choose id lean towards Road & Race as my gearbox works well with the 1.9k

 

 

change ratios ? probably posible however you might be going into a special one off price instead of the "instock" option

 

two other options to consider

 

1, use the clutch more often 😬 😬 😬 😬 😬

 

or

 

2, change your diff ratio from 3.62:1 To 3.92 0r as i think Ken uses 4.1:1 ?

why do you want to change the ratios?

 

Why not go for an Elite sequential dog box with a wide choice of ratios (and quite local too!)
