Very late edition Caterham 21

 

1999 Silver 21 1.8 k series Super Sport (140bhp)

 

Grey cloth seats.

Mohair hood (this is the more expensive and better kind)

21k miles

6 speed gear box.

Model updates like boot release, non fogging headlights, dashboard vents etc. One of the last four made. Factory built. Good condition. It's got a heat shield on the starter motor soleniod. Taxed and Mot'd (about a month ago). Alpine cd autochanger.

One note from the current owner following the caterham service - apparently the CRB will need replacing in the near/medium term - not failed or particularly noisy, but caterham advised it. Also, the head gasket is "weeping" according to them - oil to outside world variety. Once again, this wasn't deemed a major problem at expensive service time, but they advised the current owner to get it sorted at some point. Hence price reduced from 12,500 originally. This is 1000 cheaper than caterham are advertising the older 1.6ss on their website.

 

This is a very tidy car indeed - we saw it in the group photo at Curborough last year. As the later model it has better shut lines, a stiffer chassis, clean and tidy powdercoat chassis (rather than the 1996 variety that mine is).
