Ralph Morgan Posted February 27, 2002 Share Posted February 27, 2002 While I've got the engine (crossflow) out of my live axle car for a rebuild, I thought I might as well attend to the dodgy 2nd gear synchro on the 4 speed Ford (Escort Sport) gearbox. Has anyone got any thoughts on: > Whether these 'boxes are still available as an OE exchange from Ford? >A reliable company for overhaul (SPC perhaps?) - or is it easy enough for DIY? allen Posted February 27, 2002 Share Posted February 27, 2002 Ralph, I would suggest BGH for a re-build, remember an article in Low Flying some years ago, he knows his stuff. However, there must be lots of these boxes about, try a wanted request. Unless you are putting a serious amount of power through it I do not think upgrading is required.
