What's the fastest anyone has been with Clams?

are cars with cycles equally affected by cross wind??

Attempt at serious reply!......

I think Angus, that while your theory holds water, in practise I have driven my car (which likley has the higest tested VMAX of any car in the club) at a GPS and gear ratio (read limiter in 6th) at 159mph on the runway at Brize Norton.

Up to around 145 mph all was well. As the speeds incremented past 150mph it became a big test of commitment to keep the pedal on the floor.

In support of Hershel's comment;

I'm sure that if you tried to lift the front end using the mings, they'd break off.

However, with all the other lift forces a work, we don't know how much the front of the car weighs at speed. Not to be confused with it's mass. That doesn't change.

Arnie - and what was the conclusion - dodgy side winds, or very light steering - assume you mean when your car had clams?

I was trying to theorize if clams/cycle wings had different side wind characteristics - I guess you have tried both through the life of your car - what do you think?
