Everyone that used to give me stick about 'the holidays' were always on a different footing when I invited them in to look after 9B on a Friday afternoon double period in the workshops. I was starting at 8am and getting home at around 9pm most days. The boarding schools were longer hours (plus saturday and sunday). Glad I stopped for a while although I miss it rather a lot. Lots of people give teachers stick about the hols but the majority shake in thier boots when asked to look after/manage 180 kids over the course of a day Dave Ardley.
