KenEvans
Having fitted throttle bodies to my 1.6SS I of course find I now need a longer throttle cable. A cable came with the TBs but it is just bare cable one end and needs one of those little crimped jobbies (about 3mm dia, 4mm long) to retain the cable in the top of the pedal. Does anybody know if there is a stock cable that will fit satisfactorily or how I could get a crimp fitted to my cable? Thanks Ken
Geoff Dixon
Has your existing throttle cable not got a small fixing tightened by a screw? Remove the (very small) allen headed screw and the fixing comes off and you can then use it on the new throttle cable.
Red SLR
The cable should have a small, what I call T bar, on the end of it? Mine did, then the other end was bare and had to use a hex key type thing on that end that came with the kit, this was using a Jenvey linkage BTW. I have found this linkage gives a very heavy pedal so I have changed to the Elise Drive type now, hopefully this will improve things as it uses the std cable. KenEvans
No Geoff - it's a 2000 car, at the pedal end is just this miniscule cylindrical "attachment" in line with the cable (not a "T") through which the cable passes. It's not held on by a grub screw but must be crimped in some way. Ken
