Ali 2 pot caliper

I'm quite happy with the brakes on my Caterham. The feel and bias are good on my car. The only thing I object to is the weight of the standard 2 pot calipers.

 

Anyone come across an aluminium 2 pot caliper that fits or can be adapted to fit?

 

I was at Bentwaters today and saw a lot of Elises with ali two pots up front. Do Elise owners upgrade to something else? Could this be a source for used calipers?

James Whiting had some, they look very similar to the Triumph type but weigh considerably less.

Thanks. I'll give James Whiting a ring to see if he thinks it's possible to fit them. Should be able to save at least 3 kilos.

AMMO, you save 3kg with the 4 pot Alcon calipers so those 2 pot calipers must be lighter.

James Whiting has those 2 pot ali. calipers on his S2.

I think JW is doing the ali 2 pot calipers for the Caterham FireBlade.

Mallocks have had replacement alloy 2-pots for the Triumph for donkeys years. Give Richard Mallock a ring on 01604 863504. The Mallock and Lotus 7 chassis are fundamentaly similar.
