RE: Alarm ECU & Mems lock out

Problem - my 1.6 K series is from a 200 mile Rover 25. I have all the std bits BUT the ALARM ECU THEY SENT IS THE WRONG ECU. Of course when I go back to the guys they cannot find the matching alarm ECU (P/t no. YWC106240). The engine is ready for start up.

 

It now appears that I am locked out of the mems as the immobiliser deactivation works in reverse through the ECU back to the alarm ecu - one cannot function without the other. Any ideas out there as to how to solve this problem? I do plan going M3D later - but SVA is just round the corner.

I've found that the Caterham wiring harness didn't allow the the alarm/ecu link to be configured in the 7. I know others who have had the same problem. If you take the units out of the 7 and give them to a friendly Rover dealer they should be able to sort it all out by temporaraliy installing them in a 25 again.
