timbo Posted February 19, 2002 Share Posted February 19, 2002 Problem - my 1.6 K series is from a 200 mile Rover 25. I have all the std bits BUT the ALARM ECU THEY SENT IS THE WRONG ECU. Of course when I go back to the guys they cannot find the matching alarm ECU (P/t no. YWC106240). The engine is ready for start up. It now appears that I am locked out of the mems as the immobiliser deactivation works in reverse through the ECU back to the alarm ecu - one cannot function without the other. Any ideas out there as to how to solve this problem? I do plan going M3D later - but SVA is just round the corner. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Bob Corb Posted February 19, 2002 Share Posted February 19, 2002 I've found that the Caterham wiring harness didn't allow the the alarm/ecu link to be configured in the 7. I know others who have had the same problem. If you take the units out of the 7 and give them to a friendly Rover dealer they should be able to sort it all out by temporaraliy installing them in a 25 again.
