Heater

I've recently (6 weeks ago) bought a 2000 Supersport and now the heater is on all the time.The cable is moving OK as is the valve. Any ideas of where to start on repair please??

The cable and valve might be moving, OK but when the cable is pushed in fully, is the valve properly closed? You may have to adjust the positioning of the cable in the valve opening mechanism - it's fairly obvious how to do that.

Tony, the new plastic valve sometimes do not shut off completely. If, as Shaun says, the arm is moving fully open to fully closed and it's still not shutting off replace valve.

Thanks Guys - regarding the cable - At what angle (approximately) should the valve be at when closed?

On the valve fitted to mine (which is metal) there is a stop on the valve at the fully closed position. The thing only needs to be cracked open a little bit for you to get roasted so its good to have the operating knob a millimetre or so off the bulkhead when the valve hits the stop so you can be sure the cable really is getting it fully shut.
