PAC
Hi All Thinking of going for a removable aeroscreen for road and track. A quick search has thrown up the RIF jobby as the popular choice. Questions questions.... Is the central rear view mirror a requirement for the MOT? Or can I do without one? Do the wing mirrors bolt onto the RIF aeroscreen? If you drive with goggles -can you breathe(?)!! Are half doors necessary/helpful? If so, who's? Thanks folks Paul
davef
Paul, I think the central mirror is req'd The wing mirrors bolt on - you have to drill the holes for these. Yes, you can breathe Dunno about half doors - I don't have any Dave
R400 Velocity R
The Old vehical build regs stated you need a minimum of two mirrors either two door mirrors (as per a van) or one driver side and one interior. but these were old regs yuo would need to check
Castrol
Paul, Passed my MOT today with an aeroscreen and no centre mirror, just SPA side ones. Regards, Matt.
Normans_Ghost
Paul, I have a SPA central mirror with a cut down stem. I can see below the diagonal bar on the roll bar. I've never had sidescreens on the car even when I had a screen and apart from a few times in heavy rain I only wear Wileys or Birdz goggles. Get a RiF screen and a pair of his specail mirrors. Support Team Shaun_E Posted August 3, 2006 Support Team Share Posted August 3, 2006 The rules are you need a drivers side mirror and one other - see here. Yellow SL #
pinkprincess
One further advantage of mounting the mirrors on the aeroscreen is they don't wobble around, unlike those mounted on the doors ❗ Just do it. I bet you'll fit it once and never replace it with the full screen again 😬 RW04FUN
Normans_Ghost
I'll second that, Rich. Norman Verona, 1989 BDR 220bhp, Reg: B16BDR, Mem No 2166, the full story here You and your seven to The French Blatting Company Limited
