New Car - Where should I waxoyl?

Richard,

As much as you can where the skin is fixed to the chassis tubes, especially at the rear and where the chassis tube is likely to be chipped by stones. It prevents the aluminium corroding through electolytic(sp?) action. Also where the chassis is double skinned (cockpit area) where water may collect if like me you use your Seven in all weathers. It has made a real difference to my Seven, both in its new build state and for the previous 14+ years!

Not had problems with the fuel tank but the rear lower chassis tubes (from the front a-frame mounts backwards) and the rear radius arms are prone to rust. Odd really as the a-frame itself has been very resistant to rust. I wouldn't go mad with the waxoil as it is horrible sticky stuff that sticks dirt from the road to your car. I did put some Dinitrol (just as sticky) down the chassis tubes from any holes in the tubes, and also inside of the de-dion tube and inside of the light shells.
