Alias
Following a major upgrade, I have the following for sale. Rover K series 1400 engine (block, pistons, crank, head etc). SS Cams compatible ECU Engine is from a 1995 car and has done 33k miles It does not come with the original plenum, but I can supply a plenum from an 1800 if required. Likewise, it does not come with a Caterham sump, but there is an original Rover sump currently attached. Looking for about £450. Buyer collects! ----------------------------------------------------------------- 1800 Supersport with 6 gears and clamshell wings. Alias
Is it worth putting this on ebay? Have I overpriced? Is it worth dumping the wet lined block and offering a head and cams for £200? All suggestions gratefully received. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1800 Supersport with 6 gears and clamshell wings. Andy Best
If the head is SS with solid followers you will probably do better to sell the head on it's own, I don't think anyone will be that interested in the block even on ebay. If you are staying with K power the head can be worked by the likes of DVA to provide big vavles and sit on top of a 1800 block so you may be better off buying a new short engine and reusing your old head. Alias
Andy - if you'd read my post (and signature) you might be able to work out what I've done Malcolm - I've got two ECUs - one for a 1400SS and one for an 1600/1800SS. Which one do you want? By all means, make me an offer for an ECU and some SS cams. ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1800 Supersport with 6 gears and clamshell wings. rj
Rob, If the followers are solid, I may be interested in those. /regin
Alias
Just to be clear this engine has a standard EU2 head with SS cams. The followers are hydraulic as the car wasn't built as a 1400SS race car. Hope this helps (and sorry for any disappointment). ------------------------------------------------------------------- 1800 Supersport with 6 gears and clamshell wings. rj
Rob, No problem for me. I just got greedy as I'll soon be building a spare engine as I don't think the current will last very long... /regin
