Ferrino
The little ali plate which displays the VIN and is usually placed on the horizontal piece of ali beneath the master cylinder: is it strictly necessary to have this present for an MOT or can you leave it off? Mine is still attached to the old ali panel somewhere in the loft and I'd rather not have to find it
Dickie Normuss
Tony, found this here on the VOSA website. It lists all the things that are supposed to be checked on an MOT, including the VIN plate. If you can't open a .pdf where you are it says: Vehicle identification number: Not more than one different identification number should be present on a vehicle first used on or after 1 August 1980. Seek forgiveness, not permission. Rules are for the interpretation of wise men and the obedience of fools.

Ferrino
Balls, can't find it anywhere! Think I'll just chance it, unless getting a replacement is painless, which I doubt!
Mick Day
Take the pedal box cover off: VIN number is stamped on pedal box.
