Here is answers to your questions and also revised after a couple of things sold....

This engine was removed (from an Elise) following a suspected HGF and to replace a weeping crank oil seal. We have subsequently discovered the head gasket is fine and the problem (boiling coolant) was actually caused by a leak in the cooling system. Have decided to replace the engine with a Honda K20a to race the car next year and already accepted offers for the Emerald ECU, Close Ratio Gearbox, Jenvey DTHTB's and Verniers. Happy to entertain offers for the top and bottom end together but so far seem to have attracted far more interest (on SELOC) selling bits separately.

With regard to the flywheel, this is a PTP part and this engine was mated to a Close Ratio Rover PG1 gearbox. Not sure if this gearbox or flywheel differs between Elise and Caterham installations using the PG1? If so then I guess Caterham owners will only be interested in the top end and hence another reason to advertise the top and bottom separately!

Please feel free to call Ben to discuss any issues... Adverts now revised as follows due to the Jenveys being sold and because the airbox is for an Elise installation (unless you contact Bernard at Autoteknix to order the different parts):

Complete 1900 K-Series Bottom End (http://gallery.seloc.org/albums/userpics/10199/IMGP0784.JPG) £1750 ono

Taken from an engine that was professionally built in February 2006 and having covered less than 2000 miles from new (including running in). Details as follows with retail prices in brackets:

-Donor engine (£300) converted by Scholar to EVO2 specification featuring Pistal forged pistons and single tang (VHPD) rods (£951.75)

-Eliseparts lightweight flywheel (£234.94) and uprated AP Racing clutch (£176.19)

-All parts fully balanced to ensure smooth operation and professionally built using brand new bearings, bolts, seals, gaskets, water pump, oil pump, cam belt and cam belt covers (£1014.24)

As this bottom end has been balanced and is assembled ready for use I am not willing to split any of these parts. Total cost of all the above was £2677.12 but I am asking £1750ono for the lot! Call Ben on 07968 068873 for further information or if interested…

210BHP K-Series Head with Piper BP285H Cams (http://gallery.seloc.org/albums/userpics/10199/head.JPG) £900 ono

Taken from an engine that was professionally built in February 2006 and having covered less than 2000 miles from new (including running in)! Details as follows with retail prices in brackets:

-Donor Sport 160 Cylinder Head (£150) ported for an 82mm bore with bigger valves (31.5mm in/25.5mm ex) and new guides by Kiwirog @ Sabre Heads (£800)

-Fitted with a pair of excellent Piper BP285H Cams (£315) and distributor drive (£30)

-Also includes a linished cam cover and brand new manual cam belt tensioner

This top end made 210.8bhp@7810 and 156.5lb/ft@6353 at Emerald using a 1900 bottom end (although this would also work with 1800 bottom end) with excellent torque across the whole rev range (a copy of the dyno print and ECU map available on request).

Total cost of all the above was £1295 but I am asking for £900 ono for the lot! Call Ben on 07968 068873 for further information or if interested…
