You'll be calling lavatories "Restrooms" next 😳 When I was a student (many, many moons ago) it was universally called bodge tape (for perfectly understandable reasons which are obvious to us all!) As for the other phrases you employ . They mean nothing to me. Sorry to hear that you are currently homeless - when does Newark become available or are you on builder's scheduling? (next time get the builders who did Ascot not those boys with large hats who are supposed to be doing Wemberley, Wemberly (repeat ad nauseam) Comuting from N Devon is a bit of a trek...
