Impreza Turbo classic estate

Any interest in my daily driver, winner of the martin woodham all-round-best-car -ever award?

It's a W-reg year 2000 car, owned by me since 6 months/ 3000 odd miles old. Original UK supplied, none of your jap-import tat, never raced rallied trackday'd or blatted - ie never used to try to keep up with sevens! 😬

The car has done 86K odd miles, and has a full main dealer and specialist history. Cam belt changed (late-oops) at 72K miles or so. Won't need another until it's done 132K, which is good because its a £700 service 😳

Just had new front discs, pads all round, and a new MAP sensor to cure an erratic idle.

New tyres (Toyo Proxes - very good) within the last 6 months.

MoT'd and taxed in may.

The car is in blue metallic, and has the following extras, all original dealer/ factory fit:

quickshift gearlever

air conditioning 😬

towbar (used by previous owner to tow a dinghy, and by me occasionally to tow a seven)

Thatcham alarm/ immobiliser

rubber blocky things that do the job of mudflaps, contoured with the discreet sill extensions. sounds wierd but I don't know how else to describe them...!

rubber/ pvc type boot load liner

carpet mats

perspex headlight protectors

no performance modifications of any sort.

The car has never 'failed to proceed' in my ownership - it's had a new clutch at 20k miles under warranty, replaced with an STi item to cure juddering (TADTS). Aside from the recent MAP sensor, all expenditure has been routine servicing and wear items, and these latter have been minimal - 3 sets of tyres isn't excessive given the mileage, in my view, and the last set are nearly new. Perhaps I haven't been driving it hard enough.... 😳

It does 28-29 mpg unless you're feeling frisky in which case low 20s is more like it. Last service (Clive Atthowe in Norwich) showed a healthy 229BHP peak 😬, spec for the car is 215 bhp, so 86k miles and a steady diet of Optimax don't seem to have done it any harm.

Personally I'd like to keep the thing until it drops, but I've just discovered something an Impreza isn't very good at - transporting an 80-odd year old mother in law around... *mad*

So if anyone is interested in a great allrounder, post here, blatmail me or call me on 07710 097 868with offers around the £6Kmark, of course comments/ banter/ you-want-how-much-fer-it type stuff is all welcome, and helps keep this near the top of the for sale board! 😬

sounds just like mine, same year, towbar, aircon *thumbup* colour (mine is Mica Blue - the darker one) etc except mine has done 112000 miles and has probably had a harder life *eek*

Mine has also just developed an erratic idle, I'll suggest the MAP sensor to the garage.

These are great cars and unbeatable value for money, even the insurance on mine has come down to around the £500 mark now it's 6 years old and of (hopefully) less attraction to local scallys.

Good luck with the sale, you must be gutted to be having to sell to buy something more mother-in-law friendly ☹️
