simon redshaw Posted June 5, 2006 Share Posted June 5, 2006 Actually, Any main parts dealer will charge approx 45 squid for a replacement alternator with your old XE one for swaps. Mike C Posted June 6, 2006 Author Share Posted June 6, 2006 Thanks Coyoteracer!! Spoke to James last night and did a deal. The alternator for the 2.0 vx is the same as a 1.6vx and a Crossflow.... Doh, only just saw your post Simon and already done a deal. ☹️ But, the reason why I need a new alternator is because the casing has cracked and maybe they would baulk at part exing one in such a state Thanks guy!! Quick turnaround, friendly, efficient and cost me £40 to have my old Valeo alternator from my x/flow completely refurbed and they replaced the end part of the casing. Irrelevant Posted June 8, 2006 Share Posted June 8, 2006 Mike - I have a new alternator for a Caterham Crossflow - nothing fancy, just the standard one. I got it from PeterT a couple of years ago as a spare and never needed it. Not sure if it's brand new or recon'd but it certainly looks brand new.
