Tyrone
Now my 13 year old daughter has been bitten by the driving bug I have kind of promised to find her a car to drive (on private ground) and work on. Her ideal choice is a classic Mini. My ideal choice is something simple for less than £200.
LazerBrain
Tyrone - I've been keeping an eye on eBay for cheap cars for a banger rally. It's worth setting up a search for cars under, say £100. If it's for use on private ground then you don't need to worry about tax and MOT which opens up a lot of the bargain basement cars that are MOT failures - providing you can trailer it there. In the last week or so there have been quite a few Fiestas, some small Fiats, Escorts and other smallish cars going for under a ton. I guess she isn't planning on keeping it going for 4 years to get it on the road... cheers, Darren.
Tyrone
Cheers Darren for the suggestion. The perfect solution would be a cheap road going Mini (So I can drive it to wherever) which we can carry out a rolling restoration on. But an MOT failure is more likely at the price I can afford. A crossflow engine car would also make sense for my limited knowledge and parts readily available in the garage 😬
Grim Reaper
I saw an old mini for sale at the garage on the bridge in Bainbridge the other day. No idea if it was roadworthy or not but it's a nice drive out there to check it out
