DAVID L
Anyone had experience with Red Top 30's? 33 RPM is a RECORD NUMBER!
Support Team Shaun_E Posted May 24, 2006 Support Team Share Posted May 24, 2006 That's a bit of a monster for a 7! Its bigger in some dimensions than the standard Banner. I and many others use a RedTop 15 (some use a 20). I think a 25 would be plenty if you were worried about the capacity of the 15 or 20. They are excellent batteries and can be mounted in any orientation. They can also be left disconnected for up to 2 years without recharging. I use an Optimate battery conditioner to keep it topped up whilst connected. Others will recommend the Odyssey batteries which are of a similar construction and suitability. I think you can get a good deal from Powervamp on the Odyssey batteries if you mention the club. Do a search. Yellow SL #
ECR
I have a red top 30 on my JPE spec VX. Alex Wong has a 25 (on same spec engine) which has proved reliable. That is what I would replace mine with.
Iain A
Hi Have used a red top 25 with X flow and now a Duratech for the past 3 years with no problems at all. Highly recommended. One of the Duratectives
David Lynch
Red Top 20 , needs tiny tray though so may be worth staying with Banner if tray built for it. Can vouch for integrity on Alternator overcharge too. Not much use once plates aren't parallel though 😳 1.4K SS 😬 Photo's here
Normans_Ghost
I've used Red Top 20's for 5 years. First lasted 4.5 years. All prevoius batteries died before their second birthdays. Small and light and can be mounted any way. Up, sideways even upside down if you want. Mine is held on to the battery tray under carbs with a large cable tie. Myles
Cheaper to buy Odyssey or Powervamp-branded 'red tops' - they all come from the same factories. Speak to Ted Knights or Ed Roller at Powervamp - they have a club offer Project Scope-Creep is live...
