LazerBrain
I've entered a team for the 2006 Czech Wrecks rally (from the people that organised the Staples to Naples rally.) There's just one problem.... we don't have a car yet! I'm trawling through eBay and local papers and have started asking at local car dealers, but thought it would be worth seeing if anyone on BC has a suitable car. The rules of the rally state that the car must be bought for £100 or less and be M-reg or older. As a team we'd rather buy something that has MOT until the end of the rally (so upto September 5th.) Our list includes Sierras, Escort estates, Cavaliers, BMWs - basically anything that stands a chance of surviving 1500 miles over 5 days across Europe (inc Stelvio pass ) before it's carefully driven to a scrappie in Prague. This could be an ideal opportunity if you have a car laying around that you can't be bothered to take to a scrappy, but has a little life left in it! Ideally the car needs to be within about 50 miles of Reading - we don't want to have to spend too much money on fuel to get it back before the rally starts! cheers, Darren. Wile7
Go Japanese Darren - reliable on that kind of run and cheap. Something like an old Toyota Crown, Datsun or Honda of some kind. Possibly even an old subaru too. Good luck with it Dave Ardley. LazerBrain
Chris - Thanks, I've sent some messages to a couple of sellers on there. Dave - yup, Jap cars are also on our list. I'm searching eBay for anything in the age range that has an mot and is under £100! Currently waiting to find out if an Audi we bid on will be sold to us despite not meeting the reserve... cheers, Darren.

LazerBrain
Simon - the rally starts at the end of August, but we're hoping to get the car as soon as possible so we can iron out any faults and check it over. Do you work for a dealer? cheers, Darren.
Simon-R
Yes, we have mainly Japanese stuff come through but for £100 you will be lucky to get something that has much life left in it, I will have al look around and see if anything is suitable. robert green
Where's your sense of adventure - it has to be a skoda!!! I had an old rapid 130 as my first car. Fitted with a gp A rally engine and 120hp it was hilarious, and certainly better fun than most of the fwd hatches my friends had at the time. You must be able to pick one up for £
LazerBrain
Well, we have a car now.... A 19 year old Rover 825 with one or two issues that could do with sorting out before August! cheers, Darren.
