R500 Roll BAR

I find the standard roll bar a little bit skinny. Since the FIA is not available for left hand drive cars, I might be considering the R500 one if the tube diameter was larger.

Is it the case? And how is it specced?

Would a standard hood fit?

Your input would be highly appreciated.

The Caterham parts CD shows a LH FIA Bar part No. 79033 cost £164.50

I have the R500 roll bar on my 7. The main tubes are about 4.5cm in diameter, the stays just over 3cm. It does look much chunkier than the standard one.

I also have (what I think is) a standard hood and it does fit. The retaining straps of the hood bag came with some extension pieces to go round the tubes.

Also does anybody know if the R500 roll bar fits on a standard 1.6K de Dion 1997?
