gear knobs!

I think there are 2 types of ali ones. The type only held on by a grub screw, as described by Adrian and one with a thread to screw onto the end of the lever, c/w locking grub screw. Trouble is, there is more than 1 thread size to the lever. I think mine is M12 and I had to drill and tap it out.

Rob: I didn't have to remove the lever, I just used a pair of more grips and unscrewed in situ. The alu knob is longer, so make up for most of the loss of legth in removing the adapter.

Did it myself. Wrapped the thing in gaffer tape to protect it in the vice. Still scratched it, though. Drilling was awkward because the drill tends to stick. Im sure a local engineering workshop would do it.

Im near Glasgow, so Colin MacKenzie in Paisley, 0141 889 3031, is probably not very handy for you.

The Sparco ones have a plastic insert to fit any type of lever, and once this is on, three grubscrews hold it all tightly in place. Nice knob but doesn't have the Caterham logo. *cool*
