Introduction to Sprinting - 27 May @ Curborough

As you will have seen in the current Low Flying, we're holding an event at Curborough Sprint course on Saturday 27 May combining a Seven Autojumble and an Introduction to Sprinting. It's shaping up to be a great event which will offer something for everyone - buyers and sellers of anything Seven related together on one site (if you don't know what an Autojumble is, think bring & buy/car boot sale for automotive related items). There'll also be something to keep the children amused (face painting and bouncy castle).

Running in parallel is the Introduction to Sprinting event - this is a great opportunity to dip a very tentative toe in the water of motorsport. Come along and learn all about it, meet experienced club sprinters and take the opportunity of passenger rides around the circuit (you'll be amazed just how much quicker it looks from the inside of the car!!).

Andy,

Do you think I will be swamped with interest in my recent cast-offs from the xflow?

I have a complete rear exit exhaust system as well as some other bits - and NO, before you ask, you cannot have my flared wings even though I know how much you want some for yourself *smile* *smile*

See you there!

Mike

Just to make the timings of the Introduction to Sprinting event a little clearer. There are 2 identical sessions running on the day starting at 9.30am and 1.30pm, so if you want to take part but can't spare the whole day you're free to opt for whichever session you prefer. Our very own technical guru Peter Carmichael will give a presentation over the lunch period showing some of the demon tweeks that you could use to set your car up for sprinting. If you're thinking of coming along to the Sprinting event, please drop Mark Durrant an email (without commitment) so we have a rough idea of numbers.

The Autojumble will run all day.

Andy.

  • 2 weeks later...

The weather forecast is looking OK for Saturday in the Midlands *thumbup* Still space left for the Intro to Sprinting. Absolute bargain at £15, and the Autojumble is free. Come along and join the fun. Hope to see you there.

Weather forecast actually looking very nice for tomorrow - 20 degrees and partial sun

I've just emptied my garage and found even more bits and bobs, inc pair of standard track top and bottom wishbones, front ARB (red), wheels, tyres, heater, Bilstein spring/damper units, freestyle springs and a pair of chrome headlights.

We've got a very interesting collection of cars and drivers lined up for the passenger runs, catering, ice cream van, bouncy castle, face painter and a marquee for a bit of shade (but unfortunately no Regalia).

Hope to see lots of you there.

Andy.

😬 Thanks for a great morning guys. Shame about the rain, but it didn't get in the way too much. My special thanks to those who piloted me around the course - very smooth and flowing! Each of the presentations helped complete a full picture of the delights of Sprinting - especially the all important wind ups and psyching out techniques.

Seriously though, thanks again for putting on a well thought out, informative and enjoyable event.

A must for anyone thinking of going Sprinting

All the best John

I really enjoyed enlightening some folk. Pity it was damp but I knew that by changing from sliks to wets the sun would come out.

Highlight of the day has to be exiting Fradly sidways with Andy in the car and changing gear mid slide and keeping it sidewaysblushing smiley - the when we got back to the pits Andy asking for the sick bagtoothy smileytoothy smileytoothy smiley

Well done all.
