Slarty Blat Fast Posted January 31, 2002 Share Posted January 31, 2002 I want to replace the cheapo mini Metro style petrol filler cap on my VVC with a nice aero-style one. The one from Caterham is OK, but I’m not crazy about it. Has anyone fitted one from the DT catalogue? If so, which one, and how does it mate with the filler neck of the injection engine models? At present, there is a spacer between the body panel and the bayonet filler neck, held in place by six pop-rivets. I believe the Caterham brushed ally cap mates to this bayonet but with a different sized spacer. Do any of the DT models fit or will the filler neck have to be replaced too? I did use a proper aero filler with a modified rover filler neck but it was painfully slow to fill. I've gone for the R500 one now.
