oilyhands Posted January 31, 2002 Share Posted January 31, 2002 I have tried a bucketful of different products, but the *best* is undoubtedly Anglo products oil patch remover, it is superb, paint it on , work in with a stiff brush and then hose away 25 minutes later. The trouble with carb cleaners and the like is volatility, the evaporate too quickly and the detegent based ones take man many applications. I reply to every thread Posted January 31, 2002 Share Posted January 31, 2002 Oven Cleaner. The reason Coke works is that it contains Phosphoric acid. Oven cleaner is strong coke without the sugar! I used to spray Mr Muscle Oven cleaner onto the clutch plate in my Mini as a (Very) short term remedy to a seal leaking oil onto the plate.
