finmac
Mine is doing between 15 and 17mpg (thats on the road, not a track) ☹️. I reckon first time at Knockhill will see easy single figure MPG Mind you it is fun HPC with QED
Gambo
about the same. ☹️ 😬 . Decided I might need to carry a little petrol can to lemans incase I get caught out. Track use is about 4mpg
jonhill
15-20 on the road. Std 2.0 on 48s. When it was MOTed last week, we put it on the analyser even though it was visible smoke test only, to see what we would see. Apparently a lot of unburned fuel and oxygen coming out the exhaust. I guess this means the fuel efficiency can be improved, which would be nice as 150 miles per tank is a PITA. Jon
Alex Wong1697456877
19 on the road, well into single figures on track. Swindon JPE engine - 48mm weber alpha TBs
finmac
150 miles per tank?! I would take that! Alex Wonder What kind of boxes/diffs do you have? I am running 6 speed with 3.91 diff = 4400 at 80mph (rubbish!) HPC with QED
I reply to every thread
20ish on road, single figures on track. When it was on standard injection I got about 35mpg. I get about 40 mpg out of my Elise though. Fill it up about every 6 weeks
Rob Morris
Mine used to do between 18 and 22mpg when it finally left the garage.........(normally for an MOT and back again) 😬 Beat you all to it!
EFA
20mpg avg on the road, 30mpg more if you are light with the loud pedal/revs. As little as 5mpg on the track. 2gpm once, when the rear ARB snapped. Even Newer CLUE to my paint scheme.here
Dickie Normuss
I do about 180 miles and put 6 gallons in, so 30 mpg I don't hang about but It is injection which will help. Harry Flatters
20ish on the road. As Arnie says, if you are light-footed then you should squeeze a bit more out of it. On the track I get 5-8 . *arrowright*Harry Flatters *arrowright* AKA Steve Mell - Surrey AO and Su77on Se7ener Edited by - Harry Flatters on 12 May 2006 08:40:
acw
On a very steady throttle - 3000 rpm - I can can get 25mpg, but like evreyone else 20 is the norm and about 10 on track. Andrew HPC EVO 218 on Weber 45's
Westfield
Rob, Was that real miles or what the odometer said? I recon that the odometer is 20% out!! I did my daily trio to work in it last week, both my other cars say the round trip is 40 mile but in the Caterham it said it was 48 If the weather is OK this weekend I will let you know when I check it on my new SAT NAV 😬 If that is the case the car has also done 20% less miles than is on the clock! I will have to check when you changed from 15” to 13” wheels… as that may make a difference Click here to go to my web site!
doclip
i used to get 10 on track ,15 for general spirited blatting using optimax As its not my main car i have to say ive never really bothered what the mpg is as its rather irrelevant in terms of mileage < 3k miles pa Has anybody seen my 1990 Red Xflow
ian balson
Last time I measured, it was doing 21ish. Std HPC, 175bhp 45s etc. I start looking petol stations with 130 mile onthe clock, which can be a pain. Ian.
