V7 SLR
Anyone know? We believe it is M12 x 1 or M12 x 1.5, but aren't sure. TIA. Worcs L7 club joint AO.//Membership No. 4379//Azure Blue SLR No. 0077//Se7ens List Tours

Peter Carmichael
It is a taper thread. BSP, I believe, which doesn't stop Caterham from selling NPT thread senders leading to oil leaks.
Lawrence_Z
the early ones were 1/8 th but the later ones are M12 1.5 I know cos I had to make an adapter bush to fit my 1/8 th sender to the M12 hole HTH you both Lawrence
V7 SLR
Hmm, more complex than previously thought then. It's so I can get an aeroquip hose in place of the sender, leading to my new Spa sender. Apparently Think will supply it for about 17 quid once we confirm the thread. Lawrence_Z
If you measure the sender dia.... M12 is indeed 12 mm while 1/8th is nearer 10 mm 1/8 th is the size DVA uses for the water take off that goes in DTHTB's M12 is a larger and coarser thread
sjwb
If it is BSP then the major diameter will be .383 (9.728 mm) with a pitch of 28 tpi and thread angle of 55 degrees. Just a little something I picked up 😬 Steve B
V7 SLR
Just had our engineering guys check out my sender with a thread gauge. They say it is 12mm by 1.5mm. A standard M12 (which this isn't) is only 1mm. It's not a tapered thread either. Wonder if several different versions have been made then, if other people have found alternative threads? Thanks for all the advice. Worcs L7 club joint AO.//Membership No. 4379//Azure Blue SLR No. 0077//Se7ens List Tours
Paul D Jones
If it has a VDU part number on it ring Stack and they will be able to tell you what thread it is Stack 01869 240404 Paul. See My Car Here
